In this presentation, Mauro Rojas briefly shared moments of the research process developed in the Juan Montalvo Commune of Santa Elena Province, in Ecuador, with the art-therapy and plastic creativity workshops, ONOFFON™ first social activities in rural environments.

Mauro Rojas integrated the experience obtained at meeting the people of the juan Montalvo Commune during his pitch of the ONOFFON™ project at DISEÑO SIN FRONTERAS, the marathon for entrepreneurs of the Encuentro Latinoamericano de Diseño in the Universidad de Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This was a great opportunity to highlight the social commitment of the project, connecting with the ancestral spirit of rural communities to observe the needs that remain hidden in the collective unconscious, knowing the conflicts in a subtle way through creative exchange.

Mauro Rojas presented the artworks made by the workshop participants, a fundamental piece to evaluate the social contribution of the project.

The creative activities were the highlight, prior to the connection with the results of these workshops, which were later integrated into the research on features of archaeological pieces of ancient civilizations in Ecuador, thanks to the collaboration of the experts in charge of the Archaeology Reserve of the MAAC - Museum of Anthropology and Contemporary Art.

Mauro Rojas integrated his experience during his travel through Türkiye, event that inspired for creating the ONOFFON™ project, for the pitch he gave at DISEÑO SIN FRONTERAS, the marathon for entrepreneurs of the Encuentro Latinoamericano de Diseño in the Universidad de Palermo, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This intervention corresponds to a process in progressive construction, the first part of which was shared at the conference Design as a discipline and tool for sociocultural development presented also by Mauro Rojas at the same meeting, in 2013.
