Editorial product for the health campaigns of the ONG Colectivo para Alternativas Humanas
Responding again to the demand of the campaigns generated by Colectivo para Alternativas Humanas for promoting awareness in the fight against HIV, communication materials were developed aimed at sex workers in Guayaquil, with design by Mauro Rojas, CEO of Eonminu®.
Condensing the information into a short brochure was a challenge, and portable items (such as toiletries, napkins, and boxes of condoms) were taken as the main reference for user-friendly access to the information and agile distribution.
Including a character to represent the segment to which the information is directed, is a decision that injected emotional identification, to also achieve connection with another group: the clients of sex workers.
Mauro Rojas created a character that helps to face life in mirror mode, observing the reflection of the human experience, provoking a call for attention from the unconscious level.
The character, facing the reader with hopeful gesture, with her head held high, a gentle smile and bright eyes, emanates an energy that invites us to see the subject from another perspective, with positive observation, to close with the powerful statement TÚ DECIDES (YOU DECIDE), a decisive and transparent call to action.
Influencing these issues in a respectable way not only involves raising awareness among sex workers, but other groups that work in the sex industry also intervene.
The social perception around this topic is usually loaded with harmful stereotypes and unresolved taboos, therefore, the use of graphic components, color palette, and the character of sobriety and elegant personalization inject a different criterion to face the topic, provoking interest activation from the readers, getting informed without guilty.
