Paralelas: señoritas y guerreras
Photo essay for 'PARALELAS: señoritas y guerreras', a dance play by Carolina Pepper.
DESMADRE is a contemporary dance group made up by Patricia Logroño, Aglae Febres-Cordero, Karina Matamoros, Gloria Febres-Cordero, and Carolina Pepper, who perform at PARALELAS: SEÑORITAS Y GUERRERAS.
Mauro Rojas accompanied the journey of 'PARALELAS...' to generate an essay with photographs taken at private session, in outdoor presentations and in closed theaters.
This play is the result of composition workshops where the performers explored in depth the concerns that identify them as women, who manifest themselves in a differentiated way, according to their particular environment and life experience, and that, despite these differences, connections always coincide in communion, finding parallel motivations in their internal and external battles.
The complexity of the choreography in 'PARALELAS: SEÑORITAS Y GUERRERAS' left unique stage postcards
PARALELAS: SEÑORITAS Y GUERRERAS enjoys strong public acceptance at several performing art festivals, standing out with presentations on the esplanade of the Palacio de Cristal and the Sala Experimental (alternate theatre) of the Centro de Arte Theater, achieving recognition as one of the plays with great resonance in the independent stage production movement in Guayaquil.
